Higher Education with a Purpose to Transform Guatemala

Guatemala is a land of opportunity, with immense human, cultural, and natural wealth. In the face of the major challenges of the 21st century, higher education plays a strategic role in building a promising future. Aware of this reality, on February 2, 2012, following its approval by the Council for Private Higher Education (CEPS), Universidad Da Vinci was founded in Huehuetenango as an innovative and inclusive academic institution committed to the economic and social development of Central America.

From its beginnings, Universidad Da Vinci was envisioned as a laboratory of ideas and solutions, focused on creating pathways where barriers once existed. Its vision has always been clear: to create real and accessible opportunities for high-quality education, aimed at preparing ethical, innovative, committed, and proactive professionals who actively contribute to the progress of society. In an era of constant transformation and emerging technological, social, and economic paradigms, Universidad Da Vinci positions itself as an institution that not only educates, but also inspires and creates opportunities to build a better future.

More Than a Decade Since Its Founding

Universidad Da Vinci has consolidated a nationwide presence that enables it to provide high-quality education throughout the country, with main campuses in Huehuetenango and Guatemala City, as well as locations in most of Guatemala’s departments. This decentralized model reflects the University’s commitment to democratizing access to higher education by integrating rural and urban communities from diverse cultural and social backgrounds into a modern, inclusive, and relevant academic system.

In response to the demands of an ever-changing world, Da Vinci has incorporated in-person, online, and hybrid learning modalities, ensuring flexibility and continuity. Its academic offerings are organized across several faculties that respond both to the country’s professional aspirations and to its development priorities:

  1. Faculty of Psychology
  2. Faculty of Humanities
  3. Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Sciences
  4. Faculty of Legal, Criminological and Forensic Sciences
  5. Faculty of Nursing and Health Care Sciences
  6. Faculty of Dental Sciences
  7. Faculty of Engineering, Industry and Technology
  8. Faculty of Medical and Life Sciences
  9. Faculty of Music and Visual Arts
  10. Faculty of Business and Administrative Sciences
  11. Faculty of Architecture and Design
  12. Faculty of Agricultural Sciences

The Institute of Languages and International Studies further expands educational opportunities and strengthens the University’s academic reach.

This diversity enables thousands of students to pursue an education aligned with their passions, talents, and life goals.

Beyond the classroom, Da Vinci is distinguished by an active and transformative philosophy rooted in service to the community. Its institutional identity is grounded in three values that define us: Service, Innovation, and Passion,, expressed through high-quality education and University Social Responsibility. These values not only enrich the academic experience but also ensure an ongoing connection with the realities of the country, allowing knowledge to translate into tangible opportunities and solutions for Guatemala.

The University promotes numerous initiatives that generate a positive social, cultural, economic, and environmental impact. Through strategic partnerships with academic institutions, international organizations, municipalities, businesses, and civil society organizations, Da Vinci expands its capacity for action, promotes social responsibility, and strengthens a comprehensive approach to education. These collaborations not only broaden students’ academic horizons but also connect them from an early stage with real, sustainable, and purpose-driven processes of transformation.

Because education is not only about transmitting knowledge, but also about inspiring. Because preparing professionals is not only about awarding a degree, but also about providing a sense of purpose. And because Guatemala deserves institutions that create, transform, and inspire, Da Vinci will continue opening doors, illuminating pathways, and investing in the most valuable assets this country has: its culture, its art, and its people.
